About

Built for the SMEs the big firms won't return calls to.

Sustainability stopped being optional. Customers ask for it, procurement teams require it, investors weight it. But the consultancy market hasn't caught up — quoting six-figure engagements for work SMEs don't need at that scale.

Greenlane delivers the same methodologies the big firms use — packaged into fixed-fee, fixed-timeline engagements an SME can actually buy and run.

FAQ

Common questions, answered honestly.

The things SME owners ask before booking a call.

How is Greenlane different from a freelance consultant?

Same technical rigour (GHG Protocol, SECR-aligned, recognised frameworks) plus the structured engagement, professional deliverables and transparent pricing of a small firm. You get the speed of a freelancer with the presentation a corporate buyer expects.

How much does a typical engagement cost?

Scope-dependent — but always a fixed fee, quoted within 48 hours of our discovery call, with no hidden hours or scope creep. As a benchmark: a fraction of what established consultancies quote for the same deliverable.

How long does it take to get a carbon footprint report?

Typically two to four weeks from kickoff, depending on data availability. Most of that time is on our side — we'll usually need a couple of focused sessions with your finance or operations lead, then we do the heavy lifting.

Is sustainability work really worth it for a small business?

Increasingly, yes — and the trigger is rarely the climate itself. It's a procurement questionnaire, a tender that asks for a carbon number, a lender wanting ESG data. SMEs that have the work done win contracts they'd otherwise have lost.

Do we have to commit to a long contract?

No. Project work is one-off, fixed-fee and ends at delivery. Retainer advisory is rolling month-to-month — cancel any month-end with no penalty.

What's the discovery call actually like?

30 minutes, no pressure. We'll ask what's prompting you to look at sustainability now, what data you have, and what outcome you need. Then we'll tell you honestly whether we can help and roughly what it costs.
